Two Dimensional DNA Arrays

A key goal of DNA nanotechnology is the construction of periodic arrays in 2 and 3 dimensions. We have been successful in producing 2-D arrays from antiparallel double crossover molecules, triple crossover molecules, Holliday junction parallelograms and DX Triangles.  We have also organized gold nanoparticles and DNAzymes using self-assembly.  We have developed a cassette that inserts a sequence-dependent DNA nanomechanical device into a 2D DNA crystalline array.

Thus, we can create specific 2D structural features on the nanometer scale by self-assembly techniques.

It is useful to be able to produce a diversity of patterns from a single starting pattern. Therefore, we have figured out how to Modify 2D DX Arrays.
